The new SIELE exam continues to gain momentum as its creators promote it at international events for educators and linguists. The latest boost came in San Juan de Puerto Rico at the VII International Congress of the Spanish Language (CILE) in a presentation given jointly by the creators of the exam, the Instituto Cervantes, the Universidad Autonoma de Mexico, the Universidad de Salamanca, and the Universidad de Buenos Aires who together with their strategic partner in charge of implementing the exam worldwide, Telefónica Educación Digital, gave an overview of the exam to the attendees.
The SIELE is set to become the first truly global Spanish exam that will allow Spanish students and native Spanish-speakers alike to measure their Spanish ability in an online test taken at registered SIELE testing centers worldwide. In his presentation, the Rector of the Universidad de Salamanca, Daniel Hernández Ruipérez, spoke about how the SIELE exam permits candidates to use regional Spanish variations, and he underscored how the SIELE certificate “brings Spanish evaluation into the XXI century”. If you would like to prepare online to take the SIELE exam, Web Spanish can help. Our General Spanish program follows the same learning path as laid out by the The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL).
The four-day CILE conference featured the presentations of 150 speakers from more than 30 countries. More than 1500 people a day attended the conference, reaching an overall total of more than 8000 people, including 2000 Puerto Rican secondary school teachers.
