On February 15, 2017, La Federación Española de Asociaciones de Escuelas de Español para Extranjeros (FEDELE) signed an agreement to promote SIELE (Servicion Internacional de Evaluación de la Lengua Española). The collaboration agreement was signed into practice by FEDELE Preident Mari Carmen Timor, and Sara Alegría, the commercial director of Telefónica Educación Digital, the company that is in charge of developing SIELE.
Per the new agreement, FEDELE schools will become authorized examination centers and all those interested in learning the language will be able to take the level test. Currently there are approximately 180 SIELE test centers in more than 40 countries. This agreement will increase the number of test centers to 270.
SIELE is a program that was born in 2016 that measures the degree of mastery of the Spanish language through electronic means. The agreement provides that federated schools will provide information regarding the new certificate, which will be utilized in their teaching and promotional activities.
Last year alone, FEDELE counted approximately 96,000 students in its schools. With that in mind, the agreement is a very important step for the implementation of the new Spanish certificate which is obtained online, however the test must be performed at an authorized SIELE examination center.
Many schools signed this agreement. But I personally prefer the dele certificate, because it lasts a lifetime. The siele certificate is just valid for two years instead.
